Winch Power Ratio Formula |

Usually the
number of the winch size indicates its final
gear power ratio. Most modern winches have
two speeds, determined by choice of
rotation. One can multiply this number by
the power input.
Winchbuddy’s maximum torque, approximately
80 lb/ft.
Example:
A size 48 winch X 80 lbs (power input) is
equal about 3800lbs. of pulling power.
